Get Up Close and Personal with the Artistic Process
At Red Dot Miami, you won’t just see the best the contemporary art world has to offer—you’ll also have the rare opportunity to meet the artists and see some of them create new work live. Here’s a look at some galleries that will be hosting Meet the Artist events and live demonstrations.
The Lawley Art Group
Contemporary artist Tanner Lawley paints from a place of love, abundance, and compassion for others. Growing up in a small town southeast of Dallas, Lawley was able to work for his father’s painting business, which had a contract with the Dallas Museum of Arts. After graduating with a degree in business administration from Freed-Hardeman University in May 1999, Lawley started working security for several celebrity musicians and athletes. It was a time that presented many emotional and spiritual challenges, so, in response, Lawley began creating his art.
In 2006, Lawley started managing a group of fine art galleries representing an internationally acclaimed group of artists, such as Peter Max, Alexandra Nechita, Pierre Matisse, and Alexandre Renoir. Lawley’s newest fine art gallery, The Lawley Art Group, is located in the heart of the Design District in Dallas.
Since August 2008, Lawley has created thousands of original artworks that can be found in several galleries across Dallas, New York, and Miami. As a performance painter, he is best known for painting live. At Red Dot Miami, Lawley will host numerous Meet the Artist and live demonstration events. Join him as he engages you with his stories of discovery and how he arrived at his own unique painting style, and watch as he pours his soul onto the canvas of his next creation.
