Spotlight Gallery Steidel Fine Art Is in Good Hands with Debra Steidel
Debra Steidel started playing with wet clay when she was a little girl living in Alexandria, Virginia. She found freedom not only in the infinite potential the clay possessed but also in the natural environment around the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. By the time she was 18, Steidel owned her first potter’s wheel—and it’s the one she still uses today to create her signature porcelain clay vessels.
As an artist, Steidel is known for the intricacy and eccentricity of her hand-thrown porcelain sculptures and the vividness and boldness of her crystalline glaze as witnessed in signature work such as the “Ocean Whisper Series.” Works such as Ammonoidea and Ocean Azure capture Steidel’s ability to encompass the qualities of balance, novelty, and wonder.
As the curator and owner of Steidel Fine Art, an international, contemporary art gallery and art consultancy, Steidel is known for her work with emerging and established artists to present a diverse exhibition of different disciplines and media congruent with trending concepts and themes thoroughly dedicated to inventiveness and distinction.
Located in the Chelsea Fulham District of London and the Texas Hill Country in Wimberley, just outside of Austin, Texas, Steidel Fine Art provides collaborative advisory and fine art services for private collectors and interior designers for the home, professional office, and corporate environments. What sets Steidel Fine Art apart is its dedication to providing clients access to overseas collections and extraordinary commissioning opportunities by maintaining an international presence and strong artist relationships.
